When Brandon Ogbu was in the market for shelves, he turned to Modern Shelving for help. Based out of Dallas, Texas, Brandon recently moved into a new loft apartment and was looking for a divider to separate his living room and bedroom. Brandon decided a set of shelves would serve the purpose nicely and hoped online to begin his search.
Initially, Brandon was looking at options from Ikea. Although he liked what he saw, he didn’t think the quality would be up to par. He was also looking for something tall, as the ceilings in his apartment are 10 feet and he wanted something that would reach to the top. He also looked at some options on Amazon, but nothing looked sturdy or industrial. Finally, he stumbled upon Modern Shelving and knew that he had found his match.
“What I liked about Modern Shelving is that the material looked very thick,” says Brandon. “And I liked the fact that it is customizable so I can get something tailored to my specific needs.”
After chatting with the design team, Brandon settled on a mostly stock option with some small customizations. The shelves he chose have seven rows of shelves but he opted to add in drawers at the bottom. He also confirmed with the Modern Shelving team that the shelves would reach to the top of his tall ceilings.
When Brandon first received his shelves, he encountered some hiccups. The instructions were missing, and he was short a few nails. He contacted the design team, and two days later, he had everything he needed to get his shelves up and running.
As he had hoped, the shelves work well as a divider to separate his living room and bedroom. Brandon stores his record player, vinyl, and projector on the shelves and plans to add some plants and other items to complete the look.
“I’ve had some friends come over for dinner and they thought it looked amazing and they loved it,” says Brandon. "I had a few people ask me where they’d be able to get their own. They’ve said great things, and the quality is really nice.”
