Founded in 2017, Tyler Rink Design is a full-service independent design studio that specializes in retail, hospitality, and residential design. Their services include conceptual/schematic interior design, space planning, decor and finish specification, architectural design, fixture and furniture design, lighting, storefront/signage design, and branding.
When the studio’s founder, Tyler Rink, needed shelves for his home studio, her turned to Google. Both! I needed storage and display that could seamlessly bridge my home and work life since I entertain clients in my home studio.

Did you go with custom or stock shelves?
I went with some pretty standard items to start, but I did use the online customization tools to create my unique layout.
How did your ordering process go?
It was great! It gave me a lot of confidence that I was getting exactly what I wanted and needed. And the support was responsive and helpful.
Did you do the install yourself or hire an installer?
I installed them myself. It took a little while to navigate through the different installation documents in the online portal, but once I had my plan in place it was easy to execute.
Are you happy with how your shelves turned out?
I’m very happy with the end results! I particularly like the rigidity of the aluminum shelves (they don’t warp or sag under the weight of many books).
What do you house on your shelves?
They change all the time as they help me organize samples for different projects, as well as a collection of reference books that I like to keep close at hand.
You’ve probably seen lots of different shelving set ups through your work. How do Modern Shelving shelves compare?
