William Middleton: Bookcase fit for a New York author

on Jun 11, 2018

People arrive at Modern Shelving (https://www.modernshelving.com/) for a variety of reasons. Maybe they want to build their retail brand and need a way to display their products, maybe they are moving into their dream house and want wall systems that tie their space together, or maybe they want to get organized with a modern design they create. For William Middleton, author and journalist, he wanted a way to display his book collection in his Texas loft. Middleton spent the past 10 years developing his book and, as a writer, wanted a design suitable for his books and his writing space.

Middleton, committed to telling the story of influential art collectors John and Dominique de Menil, moved between Houston, Paris, and New York where most of the couple's narrative took place. When he relocated from Houston to New York City he brought his wall mounted bookcase with him to display his book collection in an atmosphere ideal for researching and writing. After over a decade and thorough research, William Middleton finished the biography describing the lives of philanthropists and patrons of the arts often referred to as the "The De Medici's of Modern Art". Since he spent so much time immersed in Modern Art for his research it was only fitting he have modern design for his own library.
